Alex Kozikowski is a stonemason and wood craftsman based close to Orbost House. His work is lovingly handcrafted using natural local materials and traditional techniques.Keeping traditional skills alive and creating work of the highest quality is of upmost importance to him.

Keith and Rachael Jackson and their kids live just round the corner, too, on Orbost Farm - an organic farm that is based on the principles of slow food production. Their aim is to produce the best quality, fantastic tasting meat products from slowly reared, traditional breed animals.

The Jacksons work closely with the Isle of Skye Baking Company, and Calina's Conserves and together form the Skye Food Company.


 

 

Marion MacPhee also lives nearby and is a very well-known artist. The focus of Marion's work is to illustrate the mythology and environment of the Scottish West coast. In doing this she hopes to participate in keeping the rich tradition of story telling alive and help continue to circulate the myths.

 

 


Orbost Gallery started in 1977 to exhibit paintings and prints which celebrate the landscape of Skye and the adjacent Highlands.  
 

The Three Chimneys is one of Scotlands best restaurants, famous for its seasonal, local food. It is is situated on the shore of Loch Dunvegan at Colbost and a ten-minute drive away from Orbost. Reservations are essential!

Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years.

Toravaig is a beautiful, contemporary country house hotel situated in Sleat in the South of Skye with magnificent views over the sea to the mainland hills beyond.
